I'm obsessed with macarons. You guys know that by now, right? I don't like their price though. I was lucky enough to spot these when I was strolling around Trader Joe's one day, and they are affordable macarons! A box of 12 was around 5 dollars (forgive me, I forget the exact amount). There's 6 vanilla and 6 chocolate ones.
They come frozen, so you have to defrost them first.

I really like the chocolate, but I'm not a big fan of the vanilla. The vanilla is very vanilla-y. There is almost too much vanilla to the point that it's bitter.
Here's a close up of the chocolate one. Feel free to drool. It's a beauty, isn't it?

P.S. This isn't an advertisement for Trader Joe's. I wish it were though, then maybe my bank account would be more pretty.
Talking about affordable, on Sat at the supermarket I saw a pack of 3 mini macarons (about 1½ inches wide) for around $5. But it wasn't frozen:)
ReplyDeleteWow that's a great price! What a great find :)
ReplyDeletegreat idea! I'd like to find ready :D excellent with chocolate!
ReplyDeleteNot too shabby! We don't have Trader Joes and I haven't seen any frozen macarons. I will report back if I find any!
ReplyDeleteYou should send this to Trader Joe's and tell them to check out your blog, maybe they'll give you a little marketing position :) in other news your blog is phenomenal and I'm thoroughly impressed. You're going to have to give me a few lessons in food photography! And since I'm unable to "follow" via Wordpress (as my blog is on Wordpress)-- and since I'm not very good at checking my email, I was wondering Soft and Stiff Peaks has a Facebook page I can "like" to keep up with all your new posts?
ReplyDeleteHaha... thanks for the suggestion! Maybe when junior year is over (it really does live up to its horror!), I will try to monetize this little blog of mine. And at this time, I do not have a facebook page. I look forward to reading your blog! It's beautiful!
